My Experience

I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years, and it has completely changed my life!! I suffered with many health issues since 1992, the worst of those being sciatica. I tried medication, massages and all types of various treatments, but somehow nothing really seemed to work for me. so, I finally decided to take a trip to India in hope of a better solution. After meeting with different physicians, I was informed that I had a major back-injury that could really only be cured by invasive and potentially painful surgery. It was a very upsetting moment of my life. Deep within my heart something kept telling me, there has to be another option. After days of research, I found Yoga! It seemed to be the only thing that helped a lot of people and I decided to have a serious approach to my Yoga practice.

I signed up for a 7-day health-camp at the Yoga institute, my feelings were overwhelmingly calm, warm and comfortable. I found myself instantly more content and strong, with positive energy that surrounded the institute all the time. I met with Mrs Hansa ( the founder of the

institute ) and explained to her both my health issues, and and the surgery suggested by the doctor. Her reaction to that amused me. She had a wonderful smile and her words were the beginning of the transformation to my good health. She advised me “Leave the doctors alone, and start practicing Pawanmuktaasana (one of the aasans of yoga) and start having light and early dinners”. When I left the institute after the completion of my course, I felt like a different person. The power of Yoga had changed my life. I found that my dietary habits and attitude towards life, myself and other people had changed.

At the age of 58 I decided to help other people who were in situations like mine or similar. I attended the same institute and was so happy and excited to be able to dedicate a whole month to enroll on the intensive TTC (teacher training course). I am now able to fulfill my dream to teach others these mind and body healing techniques and principles, and I aim to dedicate the rest of my life to help ease the suffering of those in pain.

I Believe
